This website is owned and run by the Sarratt Local History Society "SLHS". Access to and use of the site requires compliance with these Terms of Use ("Terms"), which apply to all visitors who access or use it. By accessing or using this website you agree to be bound by them. If you disagree with any part of them, you should not proceed to further visit the site.

The Sarratt Scrapbook

The Scrapbook contains contains news items, reports and clippings that have been collected for over 100 years. The Scrapbook itself is copyright; and though it is available for public inspection, you agree not to copy, download or reproduce any part of it without express written permission from SLHS.

This site may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by SLHS. SLHS has no control over, and therefore assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party websites or services. You acknowledge that SLHS shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss, howsoever caused, that arises in connection with use of any such websites or services.

Changes to these terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

We collect your data, but only to allow us to reply to an email that has been sent to us or to remind existing members about meetings or to renew their membership. If you email us we will retain your email message, any information therein, and our reply to you for up to three years after the conclusion of our conversation. Please contact us if you wish us to delete our conversation sooner than this.

We will never share any data that you send us unless legally compelled to do so, such as by government, law enforcement agencies or regulatory bodies.

Why do we need information about you?

We do not collect personal information unless contacted by you. Any personal information will be only used to answer queries; or to allow us to to remind members about meetings or to renew their membership.

How long do we keep data?

Personal information collected when replying to an email question will be retained in order to engage in an email conversation with you. It will be deleted three years after the last contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Members' contact data is retained for up to three years after the last year in which they were an active member (because we continue to send you information in the hope that you will re-join). Members and former members may contact us at any time to cancel their membership and/or request that we delete their personal data.

How do we keep your data secure?

Our system is password-protected, both for login and resume-from-standby. We delete the contents of the email trash at the end of every working day.


No cookies are used on this site. No cookies are placed by the site upon your computer.
